see https://twitter.com/walkah recent tweets for a whole new category of silo fails. We should consider adding some of these to the /why wiki page.

Hey @tripit - you just merged my PRO account into someone else's. I'm locked out. "Sorry, can't undo" is unacceptable from support.
#
@walkah
Also @tripit - you have violated my privacy granting access to past trips to someone else, without confirmation.
#
@walkah
Apparently, @tripit you're also now broadcasting someone else's trips to my social accounts.

@walkah
I am a long time @tripit fan and PRO account member. I have years of travel data in there. "Sorry" isn't okay. Fix it now.

Stevef: tantek left you a message on 2/8 at 9:58am: if you're talking about http://wiki.whatwg.org/wiki/Cite_element#Speaker in particular, then no, there aren't really any negatives (less precise spec?). So yes, a bunch of us continue to use <cite> in this way because it's not something that validators/browsers care about, so as authors, we can use it as flexibly as we want.

Stevef: tantek left you a message on 2/8 at 9:58am: more recently I've been exploring using <cite> to contain *even* more, that is, an entire structured citation, e.g. the markup to copy and paste to cite one of my blog posts at the bottom: http://tantek.com/2012/353/b1/why-html-classes-css-class-selectors - using the in-development h-cite microformat: http://microformats.org/wiki/h-cite

Loqi: thanks, was pinged by someone about current restrictions on <cite> and wanted suggested that they re-open the discussion on public HTML, in order to effect change in the definition of cite in HTML if the use cases etc are robust

Loqi: as part of my work as co-editor of HTML 5.1 I am reviewing current authoring requirements and advice with views to improvement
