fiatjaf for private messaging, why not let people just set up a "webmessage" endpoint, analogous to the webmention endpoint (analogous, but not the same. let us not expand too much the scope of the webmention protocol), to which one could send a POST and let receiver handle it the way he wants?

aaronpk that's kind of how my first attempt at private messaging worked

fiatjaf the sent data could be of various formats (for example: a source url with the message, a source url with the encrypted message and a key to decrypt it, the message properly, and a source url with the hash of the message, to confirm it was sent by the same person controlling the website etc.), and the receiver could choose (maybe make this explicit in the html itself) the kind of data it would take.
