aaronpk you run webmention.io?
KartikPrabhu and [aaronpk] joined the channel
#
[aaronpk]
What do you mean re-sending?
#
miklb
I'm using a Rakefile to send to webmention.io. I figured it out I think. I switched to https and I think that caused my cached sent mentions to resend on old posts
#
miklb
attempt to notify?
#
[aaronpk]
I'm not sure what that has to do with webmention.io? It only receives webmentions
#
miklb
well, they are internal links so it's sending mentions that then ping webmention.io to notify me.
#
miklb
believes that is what is happening
#
[aaronpk]
You delegate your webmention receiving to webmention.io?
#
miklb
so because I switched to https those links were not in my cache of sent. Sorry to confuse
#
[aaronpk]
I guess I'm not really sure what the problem is. What are you expecting to happen?
#
miklb
I was worried that I was hammering webmention.io and less concerned why my script was resending mentions
#
miklb
but now I see what was happening and they won't send again on a new build

why does an indieauth client depend on mf2?

I’m trying to work out how an async response works in §3.3.5 of the micropub spec
#
jonnybarnes
If I’m going to create the post asyncronously then I won’t know that the URL will be yet, so what do I put in the Location header?
#
aaronpk
you could either do enough work synchronously to decide what URL it will be at before you return the response, or you could return a temporary URL that you then send a permanent redirect to once it's created
#
aaronpk
tho afaik every current micropub server creates the post synchronously
#

mine does the syndication asynchronously, but the post is created as soon as the response is done
