I really like the recent spurt of non-technical pop-up events

It’s a progression that feels natural as to an outgrowth of the talented people we have. We’re 24 hours from https://events.indieweb.org/2024/04/front-end-study-hall-FHS5M2AofkU4 and I’m looking forward to facilitating that a lot. That’ll be technical but I hope will accommodate and be non-threatening or even friendly to someone who is less comfortable with code. And looking forward to a decision on when the next one will be.

And I think quiet writing one might be cool. In my head it would be a timeboxed meeting with like a soothing voice repeating every few minutes "this is the quiet writing indieweb zoom" or some other passive indicator that you're currently in the "Quiet Car" (like on a train?) with discussion allowed at some times the participants decide in the first 5 minutes. Like an unconference, with a setup and introductions, then silent, and a

summation conversation after, or maybe readings. That's all off the top of my head. Gonna put these on my calendar to think about in May.

Maybe a breakout room for writing with chill ambient music

I've not managed Zoom breakout rooms but I've been in them. 2 room zoom.

I’d be down for that. We got into the livestreaming idea last week and I’ve been mulling it over still. There’s some fun “come code with me” ASMR videos on youtube along that vein.

Even Apple got into the action with one of the (amazing) actresses from the (super amazing) series Euphoria:
