hi IWC. thanks to everyone contributing here for not only keeping the dream alive, but for extending technological opportunity and expanding social inclusion with every semantic version patch, tweak, and iteration of the perpetual work in progress. i'd just like to share here, from the subjective pinhole vantage point of this micro-meatbot, that the web has made mighty advances over the past decade; yet, in wide swaths it's also experienced substantial core mission drift, to the extent that many of the original RFC authors envisioned an open platform for all of humanity. over the past couple of years, ward's federated wikis, evan's statusnet, aaron's geoloqi, tantek's microformats, the many emerging projects here that we've yet to discover, and purposeful cognitive synchronization represent and implement the best hope for staying the course toward a sustainable, reliable, robustly circulated prosperity "to take care of all of humanity, at a higher standard of living than anybody has ever experienced or dreamt of, to do so without having anybody profit at the expense of another, so that everybody can enjoy the whole earth" (bucky fuller).
