IndieWebCamp Düsseldorf Introduction is the opening session of IndieWebCamp Düsseldorf 2025.

IndieWebCamp Berlin organizers will lead you through:

Day 1 Introduction

  1. Announce: Welcome to the ninth IndieWebCamp Düsseldorf!
  2. Introduce co-organizers: Tantek Çelik, Joschi Kuphal, and tomorrow also capjamesg. Special thanks to Marc Thiele for setting us up as a btconf side event!
  3. Show code-of-conduct & BT code of conduct, contact an organizer for any reason anything is not awesome
  4. Photo policy: use red sharpie on your name badge for no, otherwise please ask (introduce yourself and explicitly ask permission before taking someone’s photo)
    • organizers & participants may take photos and upload them to the wiki (or share elsewhere) with permission
  5. Tools: discuss, this wiki, https://etherpad.indieweb.org/2025-05-03-iwc-dus
  6. Live stream: on by default
  7. Stickers and pronouns — use the pronoun pins near the stickers!
  8. Overview of IndieWebCamp Berlin day 1
    • Lightning Intros & Personal Site Demos
    • Create the session schedule
    • Barcamp-style sessions
    • Lunch out - self-organized — Select a topic to discuss with a few people, or go out to a place to eat and come back
    • Barcamp-style sessions
    • 16:45 Day 1 closing session and clean-up
    • 17:00 Day 1 camp closed.

Barcamp sessions introduction

  1. Intro to how Barcamp sessions are scheduled: write THREE THINGS on a notecard:
    1. session name,
    2. your name,
    3. session #hashtag - used for tagging and etherpad.indieweb.org/hashtag
  2. Session scheduling!
  3. Summit leaders call *start your sessions* at start time
  4. During sessions, appoint at least one person to take notes in etherpad
