XSF

The XMPP Software Foundation (XSF) is an organization with the primary mission of creating and maintaining the standards required to implement software that uses the XMPP protocols.
The XSF is an independent nonprofit with the following mission:
- define open protocols for presence and instant messaging -- IETF RFC6121 - Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP): Instant Messaging and Presence
- define open protocols for realtime communication and collaboration -- IETF RFC6120 - Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP): Core
- thru it's membership define new extensions to XMPP and ensure interoperability between Client and Server implementations
