description is the second line of text under the title of a blog or site. It’s sometimes called a tagline or subtitle.

Silo examples

Blogger has a field titled "description" under the title of the blog, as does Tumblr; Wordpress calls it "tagline".

In the html, tumblr uses id="description", Wordpress uses class="site-description" and Blogger uses class="description"

This maps to the Atom subtitle element and the RSS channel:description.
